Dunwoody Update: City Council Meeting, Mt Vernon/Vermack/Manhasett Intersection, Paving, Hazardous Waste Recycling

1. City Council Meetings Schedule for May … Due to the Memorial Day Holiday the city council meeting for May only will be on the 1st and 3rd Mondays at 67 PM … May 7 and May 21.

2. Mt Vernon / Vermack / Manhasett Intersection … The utility work is current in progress. The bids for the construction are in and we will be voting to award the bid at tonight’s city council meeting. Since there is water pipe replacement involved we will he waiting for DC Board of Commissioners (DCBOC) to approve the contract. Hopefully the DCBOC will be able to approve the contract in May in order for us to commence construction by the 1st of June.

3. Paving … We started on the 2018 paving work last week. This is the earliest we have ever gotten started and thus we will be able to take advantage of the good hot weather. Remember the best paving weather is hot and dry. If you see the paving equipment arriving in your area please turn your lawn sprinklers off until the paving is complete … paving a wet street just doesn’t work.

4. Hazardous Waste Recycling … There will the a city hazardous waste recycling event on May 20 at Georgia State University Dunwoody campus from 1 to 4 PM. Preregistration is required … go to our city website … Dunwoodyga.gov … to register.
