Dunwoody Update: Paving, Mt. Vernon/Vermack Intersection, Dunwoody Village Architectural Study, Events

1. Paving … I have just finished touring the road paving to date. It looks like we have gotten a very professional paving job. We have had to do complete deep reconstruction on several streets. This is due to the sub-base not being properly constructed when these streets were initially built. If the weather cooperates we should be paving the entire length of Womack Rd in the next couple of weeks. The current plan is to do this paving at night. As part of this years paving plan we will be fixing the problems on Vermack Rd south of Womack Rd.

2. Mt Vernon Rd / Vermack Rd Intersection … Progress is moving forward on this intersection improvement. The area of concentration is east of Vermack at this time. New curb and gutter, sidewalks and widening Mt Vernon including a 150’ L turn lane west bound as well as a smaller turn lane east bound. The large back pipe that are stacked on the side of the road are new water line and the large concrete pipes are for storm water enhancements. These pipes will be installed in the right-of-way outside of the road. With good weather the completion date is still spring, 2019. I again recommend that you avoid this area from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM do to the construction traffic. Remember “progress requires patience!"
